Topsides Contracting Strategies

The Hebron topsides comprises of all drilling, production and utility equipment as well as living quarters. The topsides will be supported by a stand-alone gravity-based structure (GBS) that sits on the ocean floor.

TopsidesWorleyParsons Canada was awarded the front end engineering and design (FEED) contract by ExxonMobil Canada Properties (EMCP) for the topsides on the Hebron Project on August 27, 2010, with the option, at ExxonMobil's discretion, to subsequently provide detailed engineering, procurement and construction services. Following completion of FEED in early 2012, WorleyParsons is continuing with the engineering, procurement and construction of the Hebron Topsides.

The topsides scope of work includes:

  • Ancillaries
  • Living Quarters
  • Drilling Support Module
  • Derrick Equipment Set
  • Integration and commissioning

The final integrated topsides will be among the largest ever constructed and will include 52 well slots, a single drilling rig with separation, compression, power generation and utilities.
