ExxonMobil Canada Properties/Imperial Oil's United Way Campaign Raises More Than $250,000 for United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador

ExxonMobil Canada/Imperial Oil’s United Way campaign raises more than $250,000 for United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador Company-wide Canadian campaign raises nearly $4.2 million.

ExxonMobil Canada and Imperial Oil raised more than $250,000 for United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2011. The local Newfoundland campaign, which involved employees and annuitants from the Hibernia and Hebron projects, made a significant contribution to ExxonMobil Canada and Imperial Oil’s overall fundraising effort, which contributed nearly $4.2 million to United Way-Centraide in Canada.

“Our employees in Newfoundland and Labrador have been loyal supporters of United Way-Centraide for many years,” said Meg O’Neill, President, ExxonMobil Canada Ltd. “We pride ourselves on being a partner in our community and supporting the crucial role that United Way services play in improving the lives of Canadians in communities, such as ours, across the country.”

The overall 2011 Imperial Oil/ExxonMobil Canada United Way campaign was one of the most successful in the companies’ history on a variety of fronts. Funds raised topped the companies’ record-breaking 2010 campaign. Almost 1,000 employees and retirees across Canada participated as volunteers in Day of Caring activities, which benefited United Way-supported agencies across the country. Employees also took part in a variety of successful fundraising events.

Included in the overall campaign donation is $170,000 raised from the limited-edition $25 Esso United Way Gift Card program. For every card sold at participating Esso retail sites in Canada, Imperial donated $2 to the United Way.
